"Old Wounds- The Past and its Pains" is a conceptual art piece, of one anime character Utena Tenjou, from the anime Shoujo Kakumei Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena).

It's design art work for a fanfiction project of mine entitled Just Like Clockwork (click for link), where a cyborg from the distant but futuristic past is awaken from her 2000 year long sleep by a witch in a new rustic medieval world.

...Utena, a cybernetic being wearing a suit of frightening plate mail armor and wielding a powerful blade, teams up with Anthy a once-slave girl and a black arts witch. Finding herself in a magick-oriented world, that has lost the powerful computers and technology of its past after a cataclysmic event, Utena must meet new characters and try to understand her place in a story that has all but forgotten her. She must fufill her ancient programming: to protect the heir to the Ohtori bloodline and see to it their country flourishes, while balancing strange and new human emotions...


In this particular piece, we can see the well-hidden scar that Anthy witnessed while Utena was bathing in the castle. She is unsure what the scar is from...but it was obvious to anyone's eyes that it was a near-fatal wound. The scar was massive and twisted, nearly bisecting her back in an cruel slash.

Here, nude, we too can see the mark from her past. And like Anthy, are left to wonder what caused it...and what old hurts Utena still hides...

Well! Here's the scar sketch, as promised. I still need to come up with some sketches showing the concept art of her armor as well as the other characters. I still need to update the actual story instead. XP

I also plan to draw for my other Utena fanfic series, No Rock to Cling To. And it only needs one last huge freakin chapter to finish her off!
